Zak Waddell might just have been the hunkiest stud in Desiree Hartsock's contestant pool on ABC's The Bachelorette Season 9, and he has a dynamite personality to boot! Equal parts intelligence and intensity, it was hard not to fall in love with Zak during his time on The Bachelorette.
Unfortunately, despite having arguably the best-looking family Bachelor Nation has ever seen, Zak didn't cut it for Des after the Hometown Dates episode. His heart broken and his Atlantic City ring tossed out a limo window, Zak's exit was the most heart-wrenching to date.
On top of his devastating dismissal, Zak’s appearance on this season’s Men Tell All was… interesting, to say the least.
Not only did we have to relive the sadness that was Zak not getting a rose , we (and Des… can you say awkward?) were also “treated” to a heartfelt post-breakup song from the country crooner. Dear Zak: We love you, but please don’t go on American Idol anytime soon. THANKS.
On the plus side, there's some speculation that Zak might be the next Bachelor, and we'd be oh-so-totally okay with that!
This 31-year-old drilling engineer hails from Mico, Texas, and received a B.S. in Psychology and English from Texas A&M, as well as a Masters of Humanities in Politics and Philosophy from University of Dallas. In other words, he's a major smarty pants. Zak used to work as a Congressional Liaison in the United States Senate from 2006-2007, but nowadays he whiles away his time frolicking in pits of mud. Yep, this Bachelorette vet is a mud engineer for AIP Incorporated, and says he has a "solid knowledge of Drilling Processes with an expertise in Drilling Fluids." Feel free to "go there" with that quote.
