The Blacklist is off the air until January 13, and we’re not sure what to do with ourselves. We have so many questions: Where did Red go? Is he Liz’s father? What will Liz do now that she’s on a task force set to track down Reddington? And guess what, guys — we’ll have plenty of time to find the answers in Season 2!
On December 3, 2013, NBC ordered a second season of the new show, which just shocked and thrilled viewers in the midseason finale with “Anslo Garrick Part 2.” 12.26 million viewers tuned in live to watch Red, Liz, and the FBI team fight the biggest Blacklist baddies so far.
When the show returns in January, we’ll get three episodes before the show takes some time off again for the Winter Olympics. The next one (Episode 11, “The Good Samaritan Killer”) sees the team without its smarmiest ally, Red, in hand. One major change will be the absence of ratings darling The Voice leading into its Monday 10 p.m. timeslot.
We’re not sure when Season 2 will air, or what we will know by the time it hits the tubes, but with 10 installations down in the season and a dozen to go, we mostly just want to know when Ryan Eggold (Tom Keen) will get more airtime. Red warned Liz about him right before he hung up the phone. Will we get answers in Season 1, or has this renewal bought more time to find out?
