The Blacklist fans have speculated since the show’s inception that Raymond Reddington (James Spader) is Agent Elizabeth Keen’s (Megan Boone) father. But could it be that someone else is Red’s progeny — namely one Lucy Brooks? Signs point to definitely maybe after the January 20 episode.

The mysterious girl, whose picture Red yanked from The Stewmaker’s book of victims in Episode 4, is definitely a person of interest to the international crime lord. But we don’t think Lucy is dead. Why’s that? Because she bears a striking resemblance to “Jolene” — the substitute teacher with a dossier on Tom (Ryan Eggold) and Liz, who showed up at the baby shower they hosted in Season 1, Episode 12: “The Alchemist”.

We don’t think it’s any coincidence that Red’s interest in Lucy resurfaced in this last episode, either. There are no coincidences on this show, including the fact that the big bad on Red’s list this week was a guy who makes doppelgangers of people so they can fake their deaths and disappear.

Could it be that the mysterious Lucy used both the Alchemist’s services to make a getaway before The Stewmaker could do the real Lucy in? That’s our theory. It certainly explains why Red was so invested in getting a list of The Alchemist’s clients.

As for why he’s so intent on tracking down Lucy (and why she’s so intent on getting close to Tom), that’s where our speculation engine starts running out of gas. That’s the thing with this show: the more answers we get, the more questions we have!
