This weekend, if you need a breather from watching The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in theaters for the third or fourth time, you’re in luck. Peeta Mellark is hosting Saturday Night Live!

In the promos for the November 23 episode, we get a preview of the kind of funny to come and, honestly, we’re happily surprised. Nothing against actor Josh Hutcherson, of course. We just figured the transition from the arena of death to the SNL stage would be a hard one. Foolish of us, we know.

The theme of the promos, which also star SNL’s Bobby Moynihan, seems to be “how many things can we throw at Josh’s head?” In the three-minute clip, the 21-year-old hottie gets hit with a ball, Bobby’s fist (twice), and almost a piece of grilled chicken. Obviously the writers over at SNL are Team Gale.

For his part, Josh takes the beatings in stride. Must be all that arena of death experience.

Watch Josh dodge more things aimed at his face on SNL this Saturday, November 23, at 11:30 p.m. on NBC. The band HAIM joins as guest performers for the night!

What do you think? Will Josh make a good SNL host or should he get back to the Games? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
