ABC Family’s The Lying Game won’t return until winter, but for fans who have been waiting to find out what happens after the shocking reveal about Charisma Carpenter’s mysterious character should read on for teasers about Season 2. A character will unravel — and you may be surprised to find out who that is.

[Spoilers from Season 1 ahead!]

As we found out in the season finale, Charisma’s character Annie “Rebecca” Sewell, has a scheme in the works that goes beyond just Alec Rybak (Adrian Pasdar) putting a ring on her finger, while harboring feelings for love of her life Ted Mercer (Andy Buckley). In the last moments it was revealed that she is in fact the mother of twins Emma and Sutton (Alexandra Chando) and — gasp — Sutton knows and is in on whatever devious plot Rebecca has cooked up.
Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with Alice Greczyn, who plays the twins’ best friend Mads Rybak, at the 3rd Annual Thirst Project Gala in Los Angeles on June 26, to see if she could give us any hints of what’s to come.

Wetpaint Entertainment: What can you tell us about the next season of The Lying Game?

Alice Greczyn: As far as I know, Mads is going to spiral out of control, which sounds really fun. I’m really excited to see what they come up with. Anyone who saw the season finale knows that it ended with a pretty big cliffhanger with Rebecca and Sutton being in cahoots, but I’m not sure how involved I will be in that because my characters storyline towards the end of last season was much more about my father and wanting to find his innocence. I just contributed to him getting arrested so I’m not sure how that is going to play out!

Will your storyline revolve as much around your father as it did before?
I don’t know. I do know there’s probably going to be a visit him at the jail scene, so there’s some sort of communication. But as far as what is going to be said I have no idea.

Now that Rebecca is your step mom, how involved will you be in that storyline?
You know I’m really not sure. I was wondering that myself and I asked and it was a very vague response that I got.

How would you like to see Mads evolve?
That’s a good question… I would like to see Mads keep showing more of a backbone and I’d like to see her kind of snap. She’s lived a very rigid, controlled, tight life. Everything from discipline as a ballet dancer, she’s been a good student, she’s been an obedient daughter. She’s like the secret-keeper of everyone and all her friends need her but I feel like Mads doesn’t really have a go-to person for herself. So I’d like to see her have a reason to have a go-to person for herself and have some secrets of her own to keep.

It sounds like that’s what you’re going to get!
I hope so! I hope so, bring it on. I love a new challenge, I get bored if I’m the same in every episode so it’s like give me something!
