UPDATE (October 4, 2013):

We have a name! Daniel Gillies and his wife, Rachael Leigh Cook, have named their baby daughter Charlotte Easton Gillies, a rep for Rachael told E! News. A beautiful name for a beautiful little girl!

ORIGINAL STORY (September 29, 2013):

The most gorgeous baby in the world has just entered the world: The Originals star Daniel Gillies and his wife, Rachael Leigh Cook, just welcomed a baby girl!

A little before 7 p.m. ET on Sunday, September 29, Daniel tweeted, “It’s a girl. The tiny new empress of my everything. She's immaculate. We're delirious.” All together now: Aww!

This comes after a false alarm days prior, in which rumors circulated that Rachael gave birth to a baby boy. The news was worth the wait, though we’ll likely have to wait a while before they reveal the adorable little girl’s name. Rachael has yet to tweet, though the last time she wrote on social media was September 26.

Married since 2004, the couple announced they were expecting their first child back in May. Not surprisingly, fans of The Vampire Diaries and Originals star were dying to know the baby’s gender, yet Daniel wasn’t so concerned. “A lot of people are asking whether I'd prefer a boy or a girl. In truth, it doesn't matter to me,” he revealed to Us Weekly.

Just two weeks ago, Rachael chatted with Marla Sokoloff for People’s Celebrity Baby Blog. The actress opened up about her pregnancy and her feelings towards hottie hubby Daniel. “[Pregnancy] has made me totally obsessed with my husband,” she revealed. “I know (from reading too much online) that he’s supposed to be getting on my nerves because of the hormones, but I have never loved him more. That’s the BEST.”

We couldn’t be more thrilled for the happy couple. Fingers crossed that they post a photo of their bundle of joy soon! Feel free to leave your congratulations for Daniel and Rachael in the comments below.
