While Mardi Gras is usually what draws people to New Orleans, for the original family of vampires from The Vampire Diaries, New Orleans is a city with endless possibilities where they can start fresh. The Originals, a spin-off of TVD that will focus on this fictional family, premiered on October 3 and has already delivered some crazy supernatural drama.

Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan), brother Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and sister Rebekah (Claire Holt) are heading back to a city that they once called home — but they aren’t going to be welcomed back with open arms. A lot has changed since they were on top, and now it’s Marcel’s (Charles Michael Davis) world.

But Marcel isn’t the only supernatural force in New Orleans. The witches are still around, though they’re mostly under Marcel’s control. Sophie (Daniella Pineda) is a particularly prickly thorn in Marcel’s side, especially since she’s seeking revenge for the murder of her sister Jane-Anne. There’s also Davina (Danielle Campbell) who seems to have witchy powers but is considered by Marcel to be his “secret weapon” when it comes to controlling the entire witch population in the French Quarter.

And then there are those who are caught in the middle of these two sides. Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) came to New Orleans to find a new start. And after her liquor-fueled one-night stand with Klaus, she’s carrying his hybrid progeny, making her an important piece of this puzzle. Finally there’s Cami (Leah Pipes), a human psychology student who works in New Orleans. She’ll undoubtedly stumble upon some trouble in this dark series.

Keep checking here to see if you can expect a new episode of The Originals each week!

March 18, 2014

Now that we’ve officially lost one of the Originals — Claire Holt (Rebekah) is no longer a series regular and may return in a guest capacity soon — we’re anxious to see how the plot will continue to move forward. On tonight’s agenda? A rousing party, of course! With Klaus still sitting atop his throne, it looks like Elijah will be making his move to rule in his brother’s name. The two bros are going to invite all of the supernatural beings of New Orleans together for a big party in efforts to broker peace between the factions.

From the promo, we see that Hayley and Elijah will be sharing a dance together at the party, though we also know from episodic pics that she’ll be cutting the rug with werewolf stud Jackson as well. And when Elijah sits down with the witches to discuss a treaty, Hayley is pretty turnt up about the whole ordeal and insists that the werewolves get a chance to make deals. Meanwhile, a recently-exiled Marcel is gathering his troops to take his city back. With the supernatural factions at war in NOLA, his plan might actually stand a chance.

March 11, 2014

If you were worried about the Mikaelsons last week, you haven’t seen them at their worst just yet. In tonight’s episode — Season 1, Episode 16 (“Farewell to Storyville”) — Klaus, Rebekah, and Elijah are still trapped in the graveyard thanks to Celeste’s little spell. Put three feuding Originals in a confined space and give the most homicidal of the bunch a white oak dagger and we’ve got a party. Thanks to Rebekah’s newly-discovered betrayal, Klaus is blind with revenge and is threatening to kill his beloved sis.

We’re definitely worried about the well-being of our favorite blonde vamp, but luckily she’s got someone looking out for her on the outside — and the inside. That’s right, on-again-off-again beau Marcel is promising to get her out of the graveyard alive so that they can run off together. His plan? Get the newly-resurrected Davina to find a loophole in Celeste’s charm. That being said, Elijah is doing all he can to save Rebekah from Klaus, even putting himself in harm’s way in the process.

March 4, 2014

Get ready to feel the aftermath of Rebekah and Marcel’s betrayal. An bed-ridden Klaus is feeling the thirst for revenge now that he knows the truth about his beloved sister. In last week’s episode, Genevieve took him through Rebekah’s memories in order to show him that his big sis and Marcel tricked the red-haired witch into helping them summon Mikael back to New Orleans back in 1919 — and he wasn’t too pleased about it, as you could probably guess.

In fact, when he was released from Genevieve’s trap and allowed to find Rebekah, he threatened her with the dark magic dagger, and seemed ready to thrust it in her chest before Marcel intervened. Once Elijah made his grand entrance just before Klaus sealed the deal with Rebekah, he shocked everyone by making Klaus stab himself, giving Rebekah and Marcel enough time to escape. Now that they’re on the run, we’ll have to see if Klaus will be able to track them down or not.

February 25, 2014

Now that the Olympics have come and gone, it’s time to get back to what’s really important: The Originals. If you recall, Sophie was killed off in the last few moments of Episode 13, but the bigger worry we’re having is that Klaus and Rebekah have been vampire-napped by the evil witches that Celeste has resurrected. When Episode 14: “Long Way Back From Hell” picks up, Rebekah is going to find herself trapped in a long-deserted sanitorium, confronted by events that occurred in 1919 with Genevieve. Sounds like Gen is going to be torturing Rebekah quite a bit, most likely for using her to bring Mikael back to New Orleans and then dropping her like a hot potato.

But what’s really got us worried is knowing that Klaus is going to finally discover Rebekah and Marcel’s betrayal. Klaus is already on edge about who he can trust, and this isn’t going to help at all. Will he ever recover from this news or is the Mikaelson family fractured for good? We’ll soon find out.

February 11-18, 2014

Bad news, Originals fans. Thanks to the 2014 Sochi Olympics, we’re going to be without new episodes of both The Originals and The Vampire Diaries until later this month. There won’t be a new episode of the New Orleans-based spin-off until February 25, which means we’ve got a while to digest Sophie’s tragic murder and the kidnapping of both Klaus and Rebekah thanks to the revenge-driven witches of NOLA. Luckily we’ll still be on the lookout for any spoilers associated with the first post-hiatus episode — Season 1, Episode 14: “Long Way Back From Hell” — and compiling them here. From what we know, the episode will center around Rebekah and show her relationship with Genevieve, one of the evil witches brought back by Celeste. Apparently these two worked in an insane asylum together back in 1919 and Gen has some major dirt on Rebekah. We’re hoping it has nothing to do with Mikael, but, let’s be honest, it probably does. See you next week!

February 4, 2014

With Celeste gaining a ton of power thanks to Papa Tunde’s whirlwind tour of the French Quarter, things are only getting more and more intense. Not only is Davina still in limbo, but the newest Big Bad is only getting more powerful and putting our favorite Originals in danger. Last week we also learned that Rebekah and Marcel were to blame for bringing Mikael back to New Orleans and driving Klaus out of the city he loved so much. And with tensions growing between Elijah and Hayley, everything is turned upside down.

In tonight’s episode, Hayley’s furry family is going to be on two legs since there’s a full moon out in the bayou. She and Rebekah are going to welcome them back to their human forms with a party, though there will be an uninvited guest that shows up. Oh, and let’s not forget that Klaus is going to do something that will have “dangerous repercussions” for everyone involved. That plus the war with the witches is going to give us all kinds of feels.

January 28, 2014

After last week’s emotional farewell to Davina (or was it?), we’ve got more drama to attend to down in New Orleans. Not only did Sabine reveal herself to be Celeste, but she revived a few of her evil friends to add some life to the party. The Powers That Be aren’t even going to let us mourn Davina — though Marcel is probably emotional enough for all of us — because these alive-again witches are going to start wreaking havoc right away.

According to the synopsis for tonight’s episode, Marcel is still angry about Davina’s death and refuses to rebel against Klaus. Meanwhile, Rebekah grows concerned after she reveals the remnants of a sacrifice near the docks — but even worse is that it’s the work of a dangerous warlock from their past: Papa Tunde. There are also going to be some tense moments between Elijah and Rebekah, but Marcel and Cami will have a nice moment when he opens up to her about his past. Oh yeah, and Klaus is in serious trouble.

January 21, 2014

Now that The Originals is back in action, we’re shifting focus from Klaus trying to take back the French Quarter (check), and honing in on the drama in the witch community. With Davina still alive, the Harvest Festival remains incomplete — but that could be changing pretty soon. With Tim now dead, Davina is deathly ill and bundled up in bed. In every promo we’ve seen for the episode, it looks like her powers are growing exponentially and she’s unable to keep hold over her own power. Yikes!

Marcel, Klaus, Rebekah, and Elijah are going to shift their focus to figuring out what’s going on with the teenage witch, while Sophie is going to come forth with key details about the Harvest Festival (we suspect Davina is going to have to make that sacrifice pretty soon). Oh, and remember how Hayley betrayed Elijah by giving Sophie the location to Celeste’s burial site? The preggers werewolf is going to finally come clean. But brace yourselves, because the synopsis teases a sequence of events that is going to send “shockwaves through the French Quarter.”

January 14, 2014

Hooray! The Originals returns tonight! Now that Klaus is sitting safely atop his French Quarter kingdom, it’s only a matter of time until he falls once more. In tonight’s all-new episode, we’re finally going to get to hear from some of the lesser-focused characters: the women. Hopefully we’ll finally get to see Sophie again. Now that Marcel has chosen Klaus over Rebekah, his scorned love has a bone to pick with her on-again, off-again beau — and from this sneak peek, things are looking icy between the almost lovers.

Meanwhile, Davina and Cami are creating a strong bond after the teenage witch escaped Klaus’ stronghold. She is attempting to rid Cami of Klaus’ mind compulsion, which could mean terrible things in the future. Speaking of partnerships, Elijah and Marcel are going to team up to get Davina back in their grip — we just hope Davina gives in easily and doesn’t go all kinds of crazy on them. Don’t miss tonight’s epic return of our favorite new TV show — for which Joseph Morgan won “Favorite Actor in a New Series” at the 2014 People’s Choice Awards.

December 10, 2013-January 7, 2014

The time has come, Originals fans. It’s time to bid our favorite fall TV obsession farewell for a few weeks while everyone gets in the holiday mood. Last week’s episode, “Reigning Pain in New Orleans,” was the final episode of the first half of the premiere season for the Vampire Diaries spin-off. So while you wait for the next all-new episode on January 14, 2014, let’s take a look back at the mid-season finale and get you caught up on all the drama down in New Orleans.

After an intense episode the week before, last week’s jaw-dropping winter finale saw Klaus taking his seat at the throne of New Orleans. With Marcel not fully on Team Klaus, his reign looked pretty unstable, but the Original hybrid somehow won his former friend over, promising him that they would rule the kingdom together, with Klaus’s strong hand and Marcel’s charming personality. This meant bad things for Marcel and Rebekah, with Marcel dumping her for Klaus’s promises of grandeur. Oh yeah, and Klaus also ordered the massacre of the bayou-dwelling werewolves (aka Hayley’s family), but Rebekah and Elijah (aka the vampire rescue squad) swooped in to save the day. And as for the Mikaelson family? They’re all living under the same roof again, because Klaus invited his family to join him in their old home. But with the human faction getting pretty riled up and Davina escaping and subsequently giving Cami back her memories, dark days will be ahead for our NOLA friends when the show returns.

December 3, 2013

We have good news and bad news, Originals fans! Yes, there is a new episode of the Vampire Diaries spin-off tonight, but you had better enjoy it because after tonight, our favorite fall TV obsession is headed off the air for a few weeks. So sure, while we’re going to get to see Klaus wreck everything yet again this week (we’re sure of it), this week’s shenanigans will have to hold you over until the new year, January 14 to be exact.

But let’s not talk about that, let’s talk about tonight’s all-new episode. With Klaus now ruling over the French Quarter, we don’t really think things are going to get better all of a sudden. Now that Father Kieran knows Cami is being controlled by the vamps, it sounds like the human faction of New Orleans is ready to take “violent” steps to keep the supernatural kind in their place. Will the witches, werewolves, and vampires have to work together? Will someone die in tonight’s episode? We’re almost too excited to even think of the possibilities! And in case you aren’t convinced yet, Julie Plec says “you best not miss it.”

November 26, 2013

After a terrible week without a new episode of The Originals, we’re ready to welcome the Mikaelson family back into our homes — and just in time for Thanksgiving, we might add. Here’s a little refresher on what happened in the last episode to get you ready for tonight. Two weeks ago was when Tyler Lockwood decided to head down to New Orleans and exact revenge on his former sire — but that didn’t exactly happen. With Klaus turning his family away left and right (and Rebekah headed over to Marcel’s side), we’re wondering what the hybrid has up his sleeve next. Last time we saw him with Elijah, Klaus’s motives about his baby were brought up and he punished Elijah with a little bite and had a little fight with his little sis.

This week, it looks like the war between Klaus and Marcel is heating up, as we saw Klaus in chains and surrounded by a gang of vamps. We’re also promised some great moments between Klaus and Cami as well as Elijah and Hayley. Speaking of Elijah and the little wolf, they’re getting closer than ever and while things are innocent now, we have a feeling things will be heating up very soon. Meanwhile, we’re hoping Marcel and Rebekah continue to bond over their hatred of Klaus. The war is definitely starting — whose side are you on?

November 19, 2013

We have bad new, Originals fans! While you’re sitting on the edge of your seat preparing yourself for the epicness that will be Klaus vs. Marcel, it appears you’ll have to keep waiting for another week. There is NOT a new episode of the Vampire Diaries spin-off tonight. Instead of a new episode of your favorite new show, The CW is airing a special event, The iHeartRadio Album Release Party With Lady Gaga. So if you also happen to be a LIttle Monster, your Mother is calling for you tonight.

But let’s talk about next week. Now that Klaus has seemingly isolated himself from the rest of his family — turning Elijah away and ticking Rebekah off — he’s going to be alone when the battle between himself and his former siree breaks out next week in The River in Reverse. Not only that, but Tyler is still in town and has one thing on his mind: Revenge. It will be interesting to see how Klaus weasels his way out of this one, though from the promo, it looks like he’s going to lose the war. We can’t wait until November 26!

November 12, 2013

Get ready for Tyler! Last week was unfortunately short one extra werewolf, but this week is going to be a bit different. Hayley’s life hung in the balance last week, when the elder witch decided it was time to put an early end to the hybrid bun in the oven by injecting Sophie — who was then linked to Hayley — with a special syringe that would was used to literally cook the baby inside the mom, causing her to miscarriage. Crazy, right? After some sleuthing from Klaus, they hunted down the witch causing all the drama and Elijah convinced Davina, without her knowing, to unbind Hayley and Sophie, saving the baby’s life!

This week, Klaus is going to get a visit from his biggest fan (sarcasm alert!), Tyler Lockwood. With him, hopefully Tyler’s going to be bringing some information about Hayley’s past and perhaps he’ll even team up with Marcel. With Hayley missing, Klaus and Elijah are going to reluctantly join forces to locate the missing mommy-to-be. And hot off of that hookup last week, Marcel’s going to make Rebekah an “enticing offer that leaves her scorned.” What can it be?

November 5, 2013

Last week was a big one for The Originals. Not only did we finally see Elijah awakened from his semi-eternal slumber, but we heard his eloquent argument to Davina, trying to convince her to work with him. And while it seems like she’s down, there’s also a hugely complicated past between her and Marcel. Turns out, Marcel isn’t that bad of a guy. The King of New Orleans saved little Davina from taking part in the Harvest Festival for the witches (aka Slaughterfest 2012). The little witch is indebted to her protector and totally against the witches, so we’ll have to see what happens.

In tonight’s episode, the witches are going to attack one of their own, Sophie, in order to hurt Hayley and the unborn hybrid baby. Obviously Klaus isn’t going to take this lying down, and he’s going to go to “extreme lengths” to protect his lady and his baby. Meanwhile, Cami is having a difficult time handling her tragic past and she’s going to turn to Father Kiernan (her uncle) for guidance. Sounds like things are getting pretty intense down in the Big Easy, so we’ll have to wait and see what kinds of drama go down tonight.

October 29, 2013

It may not be Halloween just yet, but we’re ready for an intense new episode of The Originals tonight! Episode 5 (“Sinners and Saints”) is going to pick up right after the intensity that was the fourth episode. Now that we’ve learned a ton about Davina and Cami’s backstories, we know that they are complicated creatures who have both come to New Orleans for different things — Cami seems to be growing closer to Klaus (through compulsion?) and that showdown with Klaus might have just convinced Davina that she needs to side with the original hybrid.

But in tonight’s episode, we’re going to see papa Klaus get really defensive after that almost-attack on his baby mama and unborn hybrid spawn. We’re also going to get some epic Davina and Elijah moments, since the Mikaelson is awake from his slumber. But what’s really got us worried is Sophie’s revelation to Klaus and Rebekah about her secret past. But don’t worry too much, Sophie is going to team up with Rebekah and Hayley for a mission while Klaus and Marcel investigate werewolf Hayley’s bayou leftovers from last week’s episode. Creepy!

October 22, 2013

TGIT: Thank Goodness it’s Tuesday! You know what that means: we’ll be treated to an all-new episode of The Originals. Tonight’s episode is sure to be jam-packed with all kinds of supernatural drama, with Davina finally emerging from her lair and going head-to-head with soon-to-be daddy Klaus in a church — yeah, you heard us correctly.

Marcel is going to count on his human love interest Cami to keep a watchful eye on Davina while she’s out. Meanwhile, Hayley is going to venture to a creepy bayou while Rebekah is getting to the nitty gritty of some developing Elijah happenings.

We’re also interested to see Pretty Little Liars star Shane Coffey guest-star in tonight’s episode as Tim, a potential love interest for Davina. But from the looks of things, Tim’s going to get himself in a heaping amount of trouble, getting between Klaus and Davina. Uh-oh! This flame might already be extinguished!

October 15, 2013

It's been a long week waiting for a new episode of The Originals, but tonight is the night! We're going to see Klaus and Rebekah team up to take down Marcel and his gang of vampires while their brother Elijah is still dead and trapped in Davina's lair. Rebekah and Marcel gave us something to root for on last week's episode, but it's going to definitely take some real therapy to get these two back together anytime soon.

Tonight we'll be invited to a masquerade where we'll see an equal amount of dancing and drama. With Klaus and Rebekah out to take Marcel down, along with Sophie, whom they forced into helping them even though she's super afraid of Davina, Marcel's secret weapon. And in true Rebekah fashion, the Mikaelson sister invites Cami to the vampire shindig, angering Marcel in the process. Things will definitely be heating up tonight!

October 8, 2013

Good news, Originals fans! After the wild ride that was the double premiere of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals last Thursday, we’ll be treated to a new episode of the spin-off already, since the series is moving to its permanent timeslot this week. That’s right, from now on you can expect a new dose of the New Orleans-based supernatural series each Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.

Tonight’s episode is going to be insane, picking up right after Klaus staked Elijah with that cursed White Oak Ash dagger. Rebekah is finally going to arrive in the Big Easy and meet up with Hayley (and learn that she’s going to be an aunt, we expect) and realize that Klaus is up to his old habits (you know, daggering people and causing a ruckus).

It also looks like we’ll be treated to some awesome 1800s flashbacks, which will reveal a steamy past between Rebekah and Marcel — something that seems to have put Klaus at odds with Marcel, who was his protégé way back then. But now Marcel is in charge, and he’s got a secret weapon (Davia) and he’s not afraid to use her.

October 3, 2013

The long wait is finally over! Tonight is the series premiere of The Originals! So far we know that this is going to pretty much be the same as Episode 20 of The Vampire Diaries’ fifth season, which was aptly titled “The Originals.” But this time we are getting Elijah’s perspective on the whole ordeal rather than seeing Klaus’s side of the situation.

We’re excited to see the OG family head to New Orleans to see what Marcel is up to and to to see just what’s going down between the vampires and witches in the French District. While we know that the Big Easy is going to be a huge adjustment for Klaus, Rebekah, and Elijah, we know that these three will somehow find a way to get along and become a real family. And with Klaus and Hayley’s hybrid baby on the way, they better figure it out fast!
