Klaroline fans were not impressed when Klaus seemed to take an interest in Cami during Episode 3 (“Tangled Up in Blue”) of The Originals. After all, he’s supposed to be hung up on Caroline Forbes — remember? So who is this “brave bartender” and why is Klaus so intrigued by her?
Well, you can put down those pitchforks, Klaroline fans because according to the lone wolf himself, there’s nothing romantic going on between Klaus and Cami.
“He has a connection in different ways with different characters, but there's been no kissing, I suppose, or no kind of moment where you go, 'Yeah, that's going happen,'" Joseph Morgan told E! Online.
We’re not entirely sure we believe JoMo. Did you see the look on Klaus’s face when Cami walked into Marcel’s masquerade ball? There’s definitely something brewing. However, it may not be a love connection. As we know, Klaus doesn’t have a lot of friends, so Cami could potentially be an interesting confidante for Klaus.
“I think it’s far more interesting to play just a human connection, ’cause he doesn’t really have a lot of friends,” executive producer Michael Narducci recently told TVLine. “Klaus is someone who either kills you or manipulates you. Cami is someone who is educated enough that he might take a pause and just be curious to get to know her.”
And that would explain why Klaus was so hesitant to involve Cami in his power play against Marcel. Sure, she’s still his little pawn — he did compel her to forget Marcel’s bad temper — but there’s definitely something more between them. But Klaroline fans, you can rest assured that it isn’t love.
What do you think, TVD fans: Are you a fan of Cami? Do you think these two are destined for romance? Sound off in the comments!
