There’s no family drama quite like the Mikaelson family drama.

In this sneak peek from Season 1, Episode 6 (“Fruit of the Poison Tree”) of The Originals, Klaus, Rebekah, and Elijah have a long overdue family moment in the living room. Rebekah, who seems pre-occupied with cleaning blood out of the carpet (that doesn’t look good — did something happen to Hayley?), taunts Klaus about his “impending daddyhood” when she catches him reading a poetry about poisoned apples from dead trees.

But Klaus isn’t too worried about poisoning his little apple. After all, how could anything go wrong with Saint Elijah in the house? “Elijah’s back. In his presence, all problems turn to pixie dust and float away,” Klaus says flippantly.

“Strange, I don’t recall any pixie dust from the darkness of the coffin I was recently forced to endure,” says Elijah as be comes out of nowhere. (He’s stealthy like that.) But what is Elijah carrying? His mother Esther’s grimoire the very spellbook he promised to hand over to Davina in exchange for his freedom.

How will his siblings react with they find out Elijah made a deal with the powerful teenage witch? We’ll just have to watch and see, but you can watch this awkward family interaction go down in the clip below.

Catch the next episode of The Originals on Tuesday, January 5 at 8 p.m. ET on the CW, followed by Supernatural.
