The battle for the French Quarter seemed to tip towards Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) in last night’s episode of The Originals Season 1, Episode 7: “Bloodletting” — when Klaus (Joseph Morgan) lost all of his allies. What developments can we expect from the Marcel versus Klaus war department in next week’s episode?

“Episode 8 is cards-on-the-table time,” Joseph Morgan told TVLine. “There’s going to be no more skirting around the issue. The first hint of it was in Episode 5 when we were sitting at the bar and Klaus said, ‘If I had an all-powerful teenage witch, you’d want to know how I got her as well.’ And Marcel said, ‘And I’d want to take her from you just like you do from me.’ And that was it.”

Does this mean Davina will be at the heart of the upcoming confrontation, or is JoMo just using the tense subtext of the convo as an example? Hard to say. Marcel did mention something to Rebekah about Davina potentially being able to find a way to kill Klaus. Might she be the only one powerful enough to get Klaus into the chains we see on him in the promo for Season 1, Episode 8: “The River in Reverse”?

We have to wait two weeks to find out, as Episode 8 doesn’t air until November 26, but we doubt all of the power dynamics will be solved in the eighth episode of the series’ run. We are interested to find out how Tyler will come into play in the Marcel vs. Klaus war. At the end of last night’s ep, we saw him telling Marcel all about Klaus and Hayley’s “miracle baby.” Will Marcel put aside his hatred of werewolves to team up with Tyler? And will Rebekah really abandon Team Klaus in favor of Team Marcel? We can’t say we’d really blame her, but the fact that she didn’t ‘fess up about the “demon spawn” has to mean something, right?
