How did we survive a week without The Originals on our screens? The spin-off is back this week with the aftermath from Klaus’s temper tantrum. SpoilerTV has a sneak peek from tomorrow’s Season 1, Episode 8 (“The River in Reverse”), showing the Original vamp working through his emotions following the perceived betrayal by his siblings…

The sneak peek shows a brooding Klaus (Joseph Morgan) dictating the latest chapter of his memoir to Cami, taking it down using Klaus’s vintage typewriter — because, of course. “They have all forsaken me,” Klaus dictates as he paces, some presumably well-aged scotch in his hand. “My siblings are as deceitful and diseased as my parents ever were. Accusing me of using my baby for my own gain, trusting others before their own blood.”

We have to hand it to JoMo for the sheer charm he brings to this part. If there were a less compelling actor in this role, we wouldn’t be able to feel sorry for temper tantrum-throwing Klaus, but he always manages to gut us with his tangible portrayal of abandonment — even when it is of his character’s own making. (As it usually is.)

In the scene, Cami makes a mistake and has to stop typing to white it out. “Would a laptop kill you?” she asks Klaus.

“The typewriter was good enough for Hemingway,” Klaus tells her. And, we’re guessing he means this actual typewriter.

A still-annoyed Cami doesn’t miss a beat: “I can see the resemblance: Booze and random acts of violence.” We always appreciate someone calling Klaus out on his shenanigans and, frankly, we’re just glad he has someone to talk to at this point. Even if he is most likely compelling Cami to be there.

What do you think of the sneak peek? Will Klaus forgive his siblings before it is too late? And were the Original vamp and Hemingway friends -- or did Klaus just steal his typewriter? Sound off in the comments below!
