We have some terrible news, Originals fans. You’re going to have to bid Klaus Mikaelson and all the New Orleans drama a temporary farewell after this week’s episode. That’s right, Season 1, Episode 9 (“Reigning Pain in New Orleans”) is the mid-season finale for this fall’s hottest new show. But don’t worry, you can go ahead and mark your calendars for its epic return in 2014.

The Vampire Diaries spin-off will make its triumphant return on Tuesday, January 14. That’s when you can expect to see Season 1, Episode 10 (“The Casket Girls”), according to The Futon Critic.

While its source material will be returning with its 100th episode, the new spin-off will finally be entering the double digits. Milestones for everyone!

We’re not quite sure what tomorrow night’s mid-season finale has in store for the supernatural folk of the Big Easy, all we do know is that, in true Julie Plec fashion, we’re going to get one heck of a send-off that’s going to make us absolutely ache for all-new episodes. But at least we can re-watch all the craziness of the first half of the season while we wait — and we suggest you do the same.
