This week we got to witness yet another amazing episode of The Originals. With tonight being the mid-season finale of the freshman series, all eyes were on Julie Plec and her gaggle of talented writers to give us material that we can cling tightly to until January 14, when the show makes its epic return. And let us just be up-front with you: Season 1, Episode 9 (“Reigning Pain in New Orleans”) did not disappoint.

There was plenty of family drama, battles between the factions in New Orleans, and shocking discoveries to go around. Our heads are still spinning.
