It sounds like The Originals is about to go full-on The Shining on us! The supernatural vampire drama is looking to cast twin boys for an upcoming scene. What will these twins be up to and how might they fit into the show’s many storylines? Read on to find out!

According to this casting notice for Atlanta-based Tammy Smith Casting, The Originals is looking for identical twin boys between the ages of 7 and 9 “to play featured twin boys in a creepy hallucination scene in old sanitarium (think The Shining — they will just standing there at the end of a hallway, but may have some blood on them and will look creepy!).” Eek! The Originals has been action-packed at parts, but it hasn’t really creeped us out yet. This scene could do it! How might this “hallucination scene” fit into the overall narrative?

Our first thought is Klaus (Joseph Morgan) might bite one of his siblings again, resulting in the same kinds of flashback hallucinations Elijah (Daniel Gillies) experienced after his baby brother nipped him. This time, our money is on Rebekah (Claire Holt) as having Elijah hallucinate again would be a bit redundant — also, Rebekah has been all-out rebelling against Klaus in recent episodes. If she keeps this up, Klaus is going to react. Violently.

Of course, the hallucinations could be unrelated to Klaus’ fearsome bite. In fact, they could come to Klaus himself. We’re actually hoping for this outcome as a little bit more insight into what’s going on inside of that paranoid brain of his might make the character more sympathetic. Don’t get us wrong — we still adore Klaus — we just think he could use with a little more humanizing on The Originals. Plus, his moments of wounded, raw displays of emotion are always our favorite parts of any Vampire Diaries or Originals ep. Even if they involve creepy twins.

Who do you think will be hallucinating in an upcoming The Originals episode and why? Share your theories in the comments below!

The Originals returns Tuesday, January 14 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
