There’s been a lot of talk about which current and former Vampire Diaries characters will make the crossover between it and spin-off The Originals — but what about the newest faces to this supernatural verse? We’re talking about smooth-talking, cautious-grinning Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), of course! What did Charles have to say about Marcel’s prospective alliances with the Salvatores?

Though there is no official word that Marcel will make a visit to Mystic Falls, Charles said he was open to the idea: "Anything is a possibility, especially since we both shoot in Atlanta. I'd like to see that. I think it would be pretty cool, just to mix things up.” And, if he does make the jump, Charles dished on which Salvatore brother he thinks Marcel would team up with.

"I think Marcel is such a lovable guy that he would get along with everybody,” Charles said. Normally, we’d call B.S., but Marcel really is just so darn likeable. We blame it on that contagious grin.

A crossover from Marcel isn’t such a crazy idea. We know that Klaus will be bringing someone along with him when he visits Mystic Falls in an upcoming episode — could his traveling companion be Marcel? Now that these two are embroiled in a tentative bromance again, it seems possible. Of course Klaus would want to show Marcel the Mystic Falls sites — and, perhaps, to introduce his protege to a particular blonde barbie vamp?

Could we imagine Marcel hanging with Damon and Stefan? Sure. They’ve both lived through the entire 20th century, so there’s that to chat about. They could also share stories about Klaus’ most annoying (and dangerous) habits. Finally, it would set the precedent for a future crossover to The Originals. Paul Wesley has expressed disappointment that the Klaus/Stefan dynamic wasn’t further explored. Here’s his chance — join Team Karcel!

Do you think Marcel would get along with the Salvatores? Do you think he might be the person Klaus is bringing along for his visit? Sound off in the comments below!
