If there’s one thing we love about The Originals, it’s the intense familial relationships and just how intricate the bonds between the Mikaelson siblings actually are. After a few hundred years, immortality begins to drive even the most stable vampires crazy, because it looks like Elijah (Daniel Gillies) is choosing Klaus (Joseph Morgan) over Rebekah (Claire Holt) in Season 1, Episode 12 (“Dance Back From the Grave”).

“I’m tired of being threatened and controlled by our tyrant brother,” Rebekah admits to her big bro. “If you want to stop a bully, you need the power to stand up to them.” Sounds like Elijah may have discovered that the blonde vamp has been secretly amassing support in her campaign against her deranged hybrid brother.

“I expect such behavior from Niklaus, but I’m so very disappointed when it comes from you, Rebekah,” Elijah chastises. “Do you not see that in his way he’s making an effort here? He’s invited us back into our family home, he yearns for our family to be reunited.” Eh, maybe...

“Yes, he’s in a brilliant mood now, but for how long?” Rebekah rightly retorts. “It’s his trick, Elijah. He lulls you into a false sense of camaraderie and kinsmanship and then turns on you like a snake. I fall for it everytime and wind up with a dagger in my chest for my trouble. No more.” Can we just go on the record saying we couldn’t support Rebekah’s analysis more?

“I believe that he is approaching some semblance of peace here,” Elijah responds. “Leadership may, in fact, be a good thing for him. Now sister, please, I ask you: If you cannot support him, then at least do nothing to provoke him.”

Yikes, sounds like these two could be headed toward a very messy confrontation if they can’t agree on the Klaus issue. We love this pair and hope they don’t become bitter enemies. Can’t we all just get along?

Should Elijah side with Klaus on this issue or should he rally around Rebekah? Hit the comments and sound off!

The Originals airs Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
