Is Klaus actually being… nice? We know Klaus feels something for Cami (we’re not quite sure if his need to protect her stems from romantic intentions or their platonic connection), but lately, the state of their relationship is fragile. As we saw on last week’s episode, Cami is not happy with Klaus for compelling her and getting Davina killed. But, on tonight’s episode of The Originals (Season 1, Episode 13 — “Crescent City”) Klaus is doing damage control.

In this sneak peek from the episode, Klaus consoles Cami, who is sitting on one of the pews in the newly renovated St. Anne’s Church. “I can see why you hate me. Truth be told, I’ve done some dreadful things,” he says. “But the lies your uncle told you were meant to protect you. He is a good man with a loyal heart… and he is your family.”

It looks like Cami is still upset at her Father Kiernan for keeping the truth about her brother’s psychotic break from her, but will Klaus’s words change her mind? We highly doubt it. If there’s one thing we know about Cami, it’s that she’s very stubborn. And seeing how Klaus has his own family drama to deal with, we doubt she’s going to be taking his family advice any time soon.
