Father Kieran (Todd Stashwick) is looking pretty doomed on The Originals. In this week’s episode, he was hexed by one of the French Quarter witches, destined to go on the same murder/suicide rampage as his nephew, Sean. But is there hope for the NOLA peacekeeper? Can he be saved? Executive producer Julie Plec weighs in on the subject.

"It's not pretty. We saw what happened to Sean in the past, his nephew," Julie told E! Online. "It's definitely not going to be an easy thing to overcome, you know, hexes and dark objects and all that witchy business — sometimes you wonder what's reversible and what isn't, so we'll have to wait and see on that one."

Basically, Julie’s not spilling anything — other than the fact that, whether it ends in death or not, Kieran’s imminent struggle is not going to be pretty. We saw the beginnings of it in this week’s episode when he snapped at Cami (Leah Pipes), and we think that was only the tip of the iceberg. We’re inclined not to have much hope for Kieran. Our Imminent Death Radar went off in the last episode when Kieran told Cami that O’Connells have been keeping peace in the French Quarter for decades. Seems ominous, almost as if he were prepping her for the job. Which, let’s face it, would be a step up for her character. Right now, Cami doesn’t really have anywhere to go as a character. If Kieran dies and she becomes the leader of The Faction, her role in The Originals becomes infinitely more interesting. Sorry, Uncle Kieran!
