Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley) is a total babe. This month, the Aussie beauty is gracing the cover of Shop Til You Drop magazine with her presence. Check out the stunning photo of the Originals star below!

“Thank you for my cover @ShopTilYouDrop big kiss! x,” Phoebe tweeted yesterday, along with a photo of the cover in question. In the pic, Phoebe looks happily careless, sporting a striped sweater and baby blue cardigan. The cover promises that “Aussie original Phoebe Tonkin” well spill on “How I do model-off-duty on a budget.” Model-off-duty. We like that!

And Phoebe totally has the shopping-on-a-budget experience to back it up. Before Phoebe and co-star Claire Holt (Rebekah) were cast in The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, the real-life besties were just struggling actresses trying to catch their big break in a country far from home. During that time, Claire and Phoebe would celebrate “Frugal Fridays,” during which they would head to Target with a strict $50 budget. Claire told Just Jared all about the weekly tradition: “When we first came to America, we didn’t have any money, and we gave ourselves a budget of $50 to go to Target,” Claire began. “Because, every time you go into Target, you know, you end up coming out spending $200 or something crazy and everything you didn’t need.”

Before coming to the States, Phoebe and Claire starred together in an Aussie television drama, H20: Just Add Water, and had a strange experience one “Frugal Friday” when they came across dolls of the mermaid characters they had played: “We turn up at Target and somehow we’re walking past the doll section of Target, and we see our H2O mermaid dolls in there. And we’re standing there, going, ‘We are so broke and we have dolls in Target, what went wrong?’”

It may not qualify as model-off-duty fashion, but we think that charming little anecdote can and should be worked into any covergirl feature!
