If you’re as obsessed as we are with the intense familial drama going on in The Originals, the last thing you’re thinking about is the Season 1 finale. When will we have to pull the plug on this season of the Vampire Diaries spin-off? Read on to find out!

Per a press release from The CW, the Mikaelson drama will come to its shocking conclusion — at least until it resumes this fall — on Tuesday, May 13. We’re not ready to say a temporary farewell to Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and the rest of the New Orleans gang just yet, especially since things are more tense than ever.

When Season 1 began, it seemed like a cut-and-dry war between the many different groups in NOLA: the humans, vampires, werewolves, and witches. But as the season has progressed, the fabric that was the “Always and Forever” Mikaelson family unraveled at a wickedly fast pace.

Things are more dire now between Klaus, Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Rebekah (Claire Holt), and Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) — and we haven’t even scratched the surface of this hybrid baby drama. So far it seems like family secrets are getting the best of our favorite characters — and with things building up to a huge climax, we can’t even imagine what will happen in the finale.

Thank goodness we know there’s going to be a Season 2.
