So far, the Mikaelsons have had most of the flashback fun on The Originals, but it sounds like that’s about to change. Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), who has played a supporting character in many a flashback thus far, will be getting his very own flashback storyline in Season 1, Episode 20. Just when we thought The Originals couldn’t get any better!

"We're doing them now for episode 20, " Charles told E! Online. "It's actually flashbacks we were going to use in an earlier episode and the great thing was they watched them and they liked them so much they said we want to put them back. I'm really grateful for that!"

Given that E! Online also teased that the flashbacks would give us insight into Marcel’s relationship with Klaus (Joseph Morgan), it’s hard to pinpoint in which episode these flashbacks were originally set. After all, Klaus tends to play an integral role in most of them. But we wonder if the flashbacks won’t tell us more about the early years of Klaus and Marcellus’ relationship as explored in Season 1, Episode 2 (“House of the Rising Son”). Perhaps, we’ll learn more about the period when Rebekah was daggered and Marcel was first turned vamp? This seems an important part of Klaus and Marcel’s relationship.

Another possibility is that the flashbacks will reveal more about Marcel’s part in Mikael’s scheme to destroy Klaus and everything he loves, as outlined in Season 1, Episode 15 (“Le Grand Guignol”). We know Mikael approached Marcel before he went to Klaus, and we know that Marcel chose not to follow the Mikaelsons when they fled NOLA, thinking him dead. Is there more to this story we’ve yet to learn?

What part of Marcel’s history do you think the upcoming flashbacks will explore? Which period do you want them to explore? Sound off in the comments below!
