As if Daniel Gillies (Elijah) wasn’t busy enough starring on not one, but two television series, he also has a film in distribution. Broken Kingdom is a 2012 film written and directed by The Originals star. He also stars in the movie, alongside his wife Rachael Leigh Cook. And now you can check it out on iTunes!

“HEY!! The movie I wrote and directed is on iTunes. Go to iTunes and look for 'Broken Kingdom'. Watch the s--t out of it and talk to me,” Daniel tweeted Monday, obviously excited to see his film get widespread release in the form of iTunes. What is Daniel’s film about? The synopsis on the IMDB page reads:

Four narratives weave their way through the tragic slums of Bogota to the lofty hills of Hollywood. A 14-year-old prostitute girl and an ill-fated, eccentric American writer forge a strange companionship. A Colombian university student invites a terrible danger into her world in the name of financial solace, while a daycare teacher in Los Angeles does everything she can to fight the weight of a tragic secret.

Daniel plays the “ill-fated eccentric American writer.” And, from the looks of the teaser trailer, it is a beautiful and lyrical film. Color us impressed with Daniel’s inaugural foray into film direction. Along with the feature, you can also check the documentary about the making of the project, cleverly entitled Kingdom Come.

The Originals airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
