Perhaps one of the biggest twists to come out of the Season 1 finale of The Originals was that Hayley Marshall (Phoebe Tonkin) was resurrected as a hybrid. It turns out that when the witches killed her, she died with her baby’s blood inside of her, sparking her hybrid transition. How will the new mom deal with her new state of being when Season 2 starts?

“I’m so excited, they’ve already fitted me for fangs,” Phoebe tells TVLine. “I’ve always wanted to play a vampire, so I couldn’t be more thrilled.”

Clearly, Phoebe is excited. The same, however, cannot be said for Hayley, as we’ve already been told that she’ll be “broken” and “lost” thanks to her hybridism. Hayley has been on a journey to find herself ever since she debuted on The Vampire Diaries so we suspect that this will be a major setback, especially since she was just starting to gel with her Crescent pack.

But who will be there to help Hayley along her transition? Elijah Mikaelson (Daniel Gillies)? Now that the duo has cemented their relationship with a few kisses, perhaps he’ll be the one to help her through this difficult time.

“It’ll be interesting to see who she strikes up relationships with during this journey,” Phoebe teased. “Maybe she and Klaus could form an unexpected friendship.”

Hmm, this thought intrigues us. Now that she and Klaus are the two reigning hybrids in New Orleans, maybe they might be able to get along now. She is his “little wolf,” after all.
