Get out your day planners, The Originals fans! The CW has announced its fall premiere schedule. When will our lives become complete again with an all-new weekly installment of the killer Vampire Diaries spin-off? Read on to find out!

The Originals will air its Season 2 premiere on Monday, October 6 at 8 p.m. That’s right, folks — if you didn’t catch the news before — our favorite vampire royal family is moving to Monday nights at 8 p.m., to be followed by new drama Jane the Virgin. Taking over The Originals’ previous Tuesday at 8 p.m. spot will be Arrow spin-off Flash, which airs its series premiere on October 7. Good luck, Barry Allen. That time slot worked well for a little spin-off called The Originals — we hope it serves you just as well in your inaugural season.

Don't miss the episode.

Though The Originals is currently on filming hiatus, the vampire drama has already filmed some of its Season 2 episodes. For whatever reason, the cast and crew tacked on some Season 2 filming to the end of Season 1 filming before breaking for hiatus. In April, executive producer Julie Plec tweeted: “Meanwhile The Originals still has 6 days and 3 season 2 eps to shoot before we get a break. Hence my impending death-slash-mental breakdown.” If only that meant we could get a mid-summer The Originals special. Alas, we shall have to wait until October 6 to catch up with the Mikaelsons and co. If the end of Season 1 was any indication, the wait will be totally worth it.

Are you as excited as we are to see the Season 2 premiere? What do you think of the new time slot? Sound off in the comments below!
