We’re almost two months away from the Season 2 premiere of The Originals, and we can hardly contain our excitement. We’ve been clinging tightly to any and all spoilers about the next season of the Vampire Diaries spin-off, so imagine how thrilled we were when executive producer Julie Plec just revealed the title of the big premiere!

The season-opener is entitled “Rebirth,” and it’s giving us tons to think about in anticipation. We suspect that it has something to do with everyone rebounding from the drama that went down in the Season 1 finale. Not only did Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) have a baby, but they had to give her up in an attempt to save her life. Not only will Klaus be starting his life over without little Hope, but Hayley will also have to deal with her new hybrid self. Also, let’s not forget that Esther Mikaelson and one of her sons is alive and well.

Aside from that, Julie also revealed a tidbit about how the Powers That Be come up with episodic names. “Every title we use, we try to make it a song title from New Orleans or an artist from New Orleans,” she told TVLine. “Rebirth is one of the best brass bands in New Orleans, and they were in our pilot. We’ve been waiting to use that title for 22 episodes.”

We’re glad that Julie and Co. decided to wait to use this title because we think this is the perfect time to use it!
