There is plenty to get excited about in the Season 2 trailer for The Originals, but we’re most excited about the all of the Mikaelson family members who make an appearance in the promo at Comic-Con. Are Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) back for the upcoming season?!

If you’ve seen the trailer, then you know that both Bex and Kol make appearances. Rebekah is seen in the first minute of the video, delivering a recap of the first season as a fairy tale to Baby Hope. And Kol’s slightly-calcified (but still handsome) corpse makes an appearance later, with the implication that Esther — aka the family’s witchy matriarch — is intent on bringing him back from the dead. We know these two aren’t series regulars, but Rebekah will definitely make at least one appearance in the first three episodes of the season, and we wouldn’t be surprised if Kol popped up, too.

As for the rest of the trailer, things continues to go to hell in the French Quarter. Fueled by the grief of losing her baby, hybrid Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) is snacking on witches. She tells Elijah (Daniel Gillies): “I’m a hybrid now. I have a werewolf temper to go with my new appetite. And the witches who tried to kill my baby, they’re worth nothing more than food.” Elijah is concerned.

Across town, Davina (Danielle Campbell) and Mikael (Sebastian Roche) are still hanging out. Mikael seems pissed to still be cooped up, but Davina promises his release once she’s figured out a way to unlink her friends from Klaus’s (Joseph Morgan) sireline. Later in the promo, we see Mikael massacring an entire room of men and going after Elijah with the white oak stake. Did Davina let him out, or did he break out?

Mikael isn’t the only parental in town. The aforementioned Esther is back in the body of a pixie cut-rocking young woman, and making moonlight rings like there’s no tomorrow. This certainly attracts Klaus’s attention, but Esther isn’t afraid of her son. Klaus, on the other hand, looks suitably freaked out. “I looked into that girl’s eyes and I swear to you, she is not just guided by our mother. She is our mother,” Klaus crazy-eyes at Elijah. The Mikaelson bros end the trailer with this important question: Which of our parents do we kill first?
