If you’re missing Father Kieran on The Originals, we’ve got some good news to report. According to TVLine, Todd Stashwick — along with three other lucky thespians — have just been cast on Syfy’s TV adaptation of the 1995 feature film 12 Monkeys. Which character will he be playing and who are his co-stars? Read on for more info!

Todd has been cast as Deacon, who the site describes as “the cunning leader of a brutal band of scavengers in the year 2043 called The West 7.” Apparently Deacon acquired his followers by utilizing a “survival of the fittest” mindset and is known for sticking it to the man by burning down government quarantine zones. He sounds like a total badass, and we know Todd is up to the challenge of those kind of roles.

But Todd isn’t the only actor on the new series — the cast is pretty extensive, actually. Aaron Stanford (Nikita), Amanda Schull (Suits), Kirk Acevedo (Fringe), Noah Bean (Nikita), Tom Noonan (Damages), and Emily Hampshire (Rookie Blue) had already been cast on the show and , along with Todd, Lyriq Bent (Rookie Blue), Demore Barnes (Hemlock Grove), and Romina D’Ugo (Nikita) most recently joined the project. Sounds like a talented group to us!

TVLine reports that production on 12 Monkeys has begun this week and Syfy is hoping to premiere the series in January 2015. We can’t wait!
