Given all the drama that went down in Season 1 of The Originals, we’re not surprised that Hayley Marshall (Phoebe Tonkin) is going to be having a pretty rough time when we head back down to New Orleans for Season 2 this October. How’s the new hybrid going to be handling things? Read on to find out!

“Just when this woman found a connection to her werewolf ancestors, she’s now severed from that connection,” co-executive producer Michael Narducci tells TVLine. “For a lot of reasons — loss of her child, loss of her family, loss of her identity — she’s going to be struggling. It’s going to push her to a place where she lashes out at everybody.”

Yikes! It sounds like Hayley is going to be put through the ringer even more in Season 2 than in Season 1! We were heartbroken when Hayley had to give up baby Hope Mikaelson in the season finale, but thankfully the little tot is safe with aunt Rebekah Mikaelson (Claire Holt).

Geez, at this point we’re praying for luck to swing in favor of Hayley. Not only is she probably not immediately continuing her romance with Elijah Mikaelson (Daniel Gillies), but adjusting to life as a hybrid is going to be pretty hairy. We already know that homegirl is going to be “broken” and “lost” this year, but we’re hoping baby daddy Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) can step in and do something we’d never expect from him: be nice.

Season 2 of The Originals premieres Monday, October 6, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
