Bad news for people who think they're witches: The Secret Circle is dead. For a while, fans hoped it was in a Charles Meade-esque limbo and would be picked up by another network, but now it's straight-up dunzo. Need proof? Executive producer Kevin Williamson tells IGN, "I am so sorry to all the fans, but that show is gone."
So, will The Secret Circle pull a Nick Armstrong and come back from the grave? Not so much. "I just don’t think it ever found its audience," Kevin says. "I talked to Andrew Miller, and we were like, 'What was the thing? Was it witches? Was the world too narrow? Was it too complicated?' Because I feel like we had some beautiful, wonderfully talented actors, the show looked beautiful, and there was a lot of hard work put into it. And I think Andrew Miller did an absolutely phenomenal job. You never know."
This is sad news indeed (we are currently sobbing), but the silver lining? Kevin Williamson took a liking to Phoebe Tonkin and wants to cast her on The Vampire Diaries! "I loved the cast. I love Phoebe," he gushes. "I love her. I want her on Vampire Diaries. I ought to write her in."
