After last week’s blazin’ hot Secret Circle Halloween episode, we know you’re all dying to know what happens next. Well, Warner Brothers recently flew Wetpaint Entertainment to Vancouver, where we got a chance to visit Henry’s lake house and get the scoop on Thursday’s Season 2, Episode 8, “Beneath.”
Here’s what’s going down: When Cassie Blake (Britt Robertson) doesn’t hear from her grandmother for a few days, the Circle decides to go looking for her. But when they get to Henry’s lake house, they won’t find Jane (Ashley Crow), who last was seen unconscious on the floor next to a presumably dead Henry. Instead, the weather will turn the search party into another kind of party.
“We come here looking for Cassie’s grandmother and Cassie gets a text saying she’s okay and she’ll be home later, so we decide to stick around and enjoy the night,” says Shelley Hennig, who plays Diana Meade.
“A lot has been happening to the Circle, we’ve been in a lot of danger, so being at Henry’s lake house makes them feel like they’re away from all the bad stuff,” she adds. “Diana is really pleased with this.”
She won’t be pleased for long, however, as a game of truth or dare — combined with the contents of Henry’s liquor cabinet — stirs up some raw emotions for everyone.
“Cassie isn’t really a drinker,” says Britt, when asked about the troublesome mixture of booze and magic. “But it’s definitely not a good combo for Faye.”
As seen in the promo, Faye Chamberlain [Phoebe Tonkin] doesn’t react well to a rather steamy dare performed between Cassie and new bad boy Jake Armstrong [Chris Zylka].
“Faye is paranoid that everyone is turning against her. She can see that Cassie is slowly trying to take away everything that’s important to her,” says Phoebe. ”She starts lashing out a little bit, and starts questioning herself and going a little mad.”
For Phoebe, who moments later braved the pounding rain to face Faye’s demons, this episode is her favorite to date.
“The scene we just did was probably my favorite scene so far,” she told Wetpaint Entertainment after shooting their game of truth or dare. “It was very character driven, everyone had a very clear intention and it was really interesting combining being just a normal teenager — drinking and going away for the weekend — [with] the magic element. I think that’s what’s so cool about our show: finding the balance between the magic and just being a normal teenager with normal problems.”
