Chris Zylka suits up for V Man Magazine's issue #25.
The Secret Circle's Chris Zylka is one of Hollywood's hottest up-and-coming stars, but before he was famous for being a super-hunk, Chris was just like the rest of us, save for one major detail: he used to be homeless!
Chris dropped out of the University of Toledo and moved to California to pursue his dream of acting, but he didn't exactly have a plan. “I had never really thought about acting as art,” he tells Out Magazine. “You know, growing up in Youngstown, the Rust Belt of the world, it was always just a form of entertainment. Finally seeing it as an art form, I fell in love with it. So I moved out to California, never having visited before.”
Chris was homeless when he moved out west, but eventually earned enough money to buy a car and live in it. Sigh, those were the days! Then, Chris met his manager, Jon Simmons, who pretty much changed his life.
“He was eating at the restaurant and asked me if I was an actor,” Chris says. “I said, ‘No, I want to be, but I’ve never worked before.’ From that moment on, he trained me and developed me, and one thing led to another.”
Now, Chris stars on The Secret Circle and is about to hit up the big screen as Flash Thompson in The Amazing Spider-Man. “I feel like maybe I’ve made it,” Chris says. “Kind of.”
Kind of? Try definitely.
