The Secret Circle

Honestly, it’s hard to remember a time before Jake Armstrong (Chris Zylka). But if we really try, we can cast our minds back to the good ol’ days when a double-damaged stud roamed around Chance Harbor dealing herbal tinctures and showing off his six-pack. Welcome back into our fantasies, Nick (Louis Hunter).

The original Armstrong’s death has had a lasting effect on the characters in The Secret Circle, especially Melissa (Jessica Parker Kennedy), who is still super emo about it.

“Losing a boyfriend is something I can't personally fathom and so it's taking her a long time to recover from that,” Jessica Parker Kennedy explains to The Hollywood Reporter. “At the same time, she's finding strength in her relationship with Faye (Phoebe Tonkin), finding her own feet and keeping her distance. And saying, you know Faye, I'm not interested in following you around anymore; I know who I am now.”

So does this mean Melissa’s ready to move on? “She's starting to put out her own feelers and figure out who she is and how she wants to behave in life,” Jessica says. “At the same time, she's still struggling with the fact that she lost someone she loves very much and it's going to take her a little while before she finds her footing again.”

Melissa appears to be making friends with Diana (Shelley Hennig) and Cassie (Britt Robertson), and Jessica confirms that she’s finding new people to help cope with her grief. “Her troubles aren't over, let's say,” Jess says. “She's reaching out in different ways looking for comfort from different people. She's searching to be comforted. Her journey and the way she's looking for that is going to be a bumpy one.”

Fingers crossed that Melissa learns how to communicate with the dead!
