A Canadian fashion model turned actress, Natasha Henstridge is best-known for her roles in Species, The Whole Nine Yards, It Had to Be You, She Spies, and the Canadian TV miniseries Would Be Kings, for which she won the Gemini Award for Best Actress. When she was only 13, Natasha was the first runner-up in the Casablanca Modeling Agency's "Look of the Year" contest. The following year, she went to Paris to pursue modeling, and she landed her first magazine cover, the French edition of Cosmopolitan, at 15. Several more covers followed, which led to TV commercials... and then movies.

She made her film debut in 1995's Species. Notable for its sexual content (yowza!), the popular sci-fi flick won Henstridge an MTV Movie award for "best kiss" for a scene in which her character, an alien/human hybrid, impales an aggressive would-be suitor's head on her tongue. Charming! She went on to appear in both sequels, and when she voiced a substitute teacher in South Park's first season, she was credited as "The chick from Species."

In an 1998 interview with movie magazine Empire, she revealed that she is not very good at judging scripts. Case in point: She turned down the mega-hits Independence Day (1996) and Men in Black (1997), thinking, "What is this s**t?"
