Cassie Blake is the teen witch who completes the newest generation of the Secret Circle. After her mother dies in what appears to be a freak fire, she moves in with her grandmother in the small town of Chance Harbor, Washington. There, she meets five other teen witches who tell her about her magical powers and initiate her into their cliquish coven — which dates back to 1692.

Cassie is immediately drawn to one of the guys in the circle, Adam Conant, but he’s already attached to fellow witch Diana Meade.
