The Secret Circle

Prom is finally coming to Chance Harbor High, and the gang gears up for the biggest dance of the year. They're also still on a mission to find crystals and Adam unearths one at the school. Convenient! Blackwell tells Cassie to use her dark magic to find out where this particular pet rock is lurking, but the bad news? She uncovers something dangerous. Meanwhile, Faye still has the hots for Jake, so she asks him to be her prom date.

One of the Circle's pet rocks is stolen from the clubhouse, and you know what that means: There's a traitor among us! The gang determines that the double-crossing witch who's helping Eben used magic to steal the crystal, and they go on a mission to find out the truth.

Jake calls a meeting with his surrogate father, Isaac, to see if he'll lend a helping hand, but Cassie and her crazy eyes ruin their delicate alliance when her poor understanding of dark magic leads them to the "Creepiest Place on Earth." 

 Jake, Faye, and Cassie team up to find Jake's grandfather, who apparently has a crystal of his very own. Unfortunately, Gramps tells some crazy old man stories from 16 years ago (Blackwell child alert!).

Meanwhile, Diana, Melissa, and Adam team up to find the "Glaser Crystal," which puts a major wrench in Diana's new relationship with her hunky Australian boyfriend. Grant wants to know all of Diana's dirty little secrets. 

Jake's pal Saumel returns to give the manwitch a message. Diana wants to tell Grant her secret, while Melissa and Faye get Adam to cast spells to improve their love lives. 

Cassie and Adam discover their love is more curse than blessing, so they visit Grandma Jane for lesson in curse breaking. Only problem? Now that it's been activated (aka, they did it), someone will die. Unfortunately for Faye, Eva wants revenge on her. 

Cassie discovers why her father has returned to Chance Harbor and confronts him about his sinister agenda. Faye musters the courage to ask Lee out but then finds out about his girlfriend, who's no longer in a coma and very much awake. 

Cassie is so freaked out when John Blackwell shows up looking for her that she freaks out and runs away, only to get witch-napped by the witch hunters. Jake tries to save Cassie (again) by trading his life for hers (our hero!). Meanwhile, Adam rallies The Circle together to stir the cauldron and try and bring Cass back to Chance Harbor safe and sound.

CASSIE NEEDS THE CIRCLE’S HELP AFTER A TERRIFYING DISCOVERY ABOUT THE WITCH HUNTERS — Cassie (Britt Robertson) enlists the Circle’s help when she receives a frightening warning about the witch hunters’ return.  At the same time, her true feelings for Adam (Thomas Dekker) and Jake (Chris Zylka) surface during a birthday party that Ethan (Adam Harrington) decides to throw with the help of Diana (Shelley Hennig).  Meanwhile, Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) and Melissa (Jessica Parker Kennedy) take their inner power to a chilling new level when they try a little of Lee’s (guest star Grey Damon) “Devil’s Spirit.”  Gale Harold and Natasha Henstridge also star.

VALENTINE’S DAY IN CHANCE HARBOR BRINGS SLUMBER PARTIES, SURPRISE HOOKUPS AND VENGEFUL WITCHES — In honor of the holiday, Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) and Melissa (Jessica Parker Kennedy) throw a girls only anti-Valentine’s Day slumber party for themselves and fellow witches Diana (Shelley Hennig) and Cassie (Britt Robertson).  But the night gets wilder than expected when Melissa offers Diana some mood altering “Devil’s Spirit” and the first person Diana loosens up around is Lee (guest star Grey Damon), who crashes the party to help Faye achieve her own power.  Meanwhile, Cassie is forced to turn to Adam (Thomas Dekker) and Jake (Chris Zylka) after she becomes haunted by the spirits of some vengeful witches.

FAYE’S QUEST FOR POWER THREATENS THE CIRCLE — Cassie (Britt Robertson) asks Adam (Thomas Dekker) for help when she wants to look into her father’s past, and their search leads them to an eerily familiar place.  It also rekindles an old flame when Adam, thrilled to be spending time with Cassie again, asks her to the Fire and Ice dance. But because of her friendship with Diana (Shelley Hennig) Cassie is forced to give a surprising response.  In an effort to be a better father, Ethan (Adam Harrington) offers to chaperon the dance, much to Adam's dismay.  Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) asks Lee (guest star Grey Damon) to help her with a spell that would grant her individual magic.  Unfortunately, the spell has some terrifying side effects that nearly destroy the Circle.  Jessica Parker Kennedy also stars.

JAKE RETURNS AND OFFERS CASSIE THE CHANCE TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED 16 YEARS AGO — Jake (Chris Zylka) returns to Chance Harbor to warn Cassie (Britt Robertson) that unless they find out how her father was killed in the boat fire 16 years ago, she’ll meet with the same death. He suggests an extremely dangerous method to finally uncover what happened on that fateful day, but Adam (Thomas Dekker) and Diana (Shelley Hennig) suspect he has ulterior motives. In an effort to usurp the other, both Charles (Gale Harold) and Dawn (Natasha Henstridge) try to get Ethan (Adam Harrington) on board as an ally. Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) gets trapped in a dangerous situation when one of Lee’s (guest star Grey Damon) friends, Callum (guest star Michael Graziadei) stops by the shop. Jessica Parker Kennedy also stars. Eagle Egilsson directed the episode written by Dana Baratta (#112).

Cassie looks up Heather Barnes, an old friend of her mother's, but is disappointed to learn that Heather has been in a catatonic state since the night of the fire 16 years ago. Feeling guilty that her mother and the Circle may be partially responsible for Heather's current state, Cassie tells Diana that she wants to use magic to help Heather. Diana refuses to go along with the plan, but Faye is more than willing help - for a price.

CASSIE REVEALS HER DEEPEST SECRET YET; STEFANIE KRAMER (“HUNTER”) AND GREY DAMON (“FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS”) GUEST STAR — Cassie (Britt Robertson) turns to Adam (Thomas Dekker) when she uncovers a secret about herself that she needs kept from the rest of the Circle, including Diana (Shelley Hennig).  Meanwhile, Diana is thrilled when her grandmother Kate (guest star Stefanie Kramer, “Hunter”) drops in for a visit, but Charles (Gale Harold) is suspicious of his mother’s motives after Kate takes an unusual interest in Cassie.  Meanwhile, Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) recruits a mysterious stranger named Lee (guest star Grey Damon, “Friday Night Lights”) to help her with a spell that could change the balance of the Circle forever.  Jessica Parker Kennedy and Natasha Henstridge also star.  Chris Grismer directed the episode written by David Ehrman (#110).

CASSIE ATTEMPTS TO HAVE A LIFE WITHOUT WITCHCRAFT BUT DIANA HAS DIFFERENT PLANS — In an effort to distance herself from the Circle and establish a normal teenage life in Chance Harbor, Cassie (Britt Robertson) befriends Sally Matthews (guest star Logan Browning), a non-witch.  Concerned their powers are getting out of control, Diana (Shelley Hennig) pushes everyone to bind the Circle, but Faye (Phoebe Jane Tonkin) is thrilled with the increase in her powers and refuses to participate, while Melissa (Jessica Parker Kennedy) flirts with Nick (Louis Hunter) despite Faye’s warnings.  Meanwhile, Adam (Thomas Dekker) fights his growing feelings for Cassie, but circumstances continue to throw them together, forcing Cassie to make a decision.  Gale Harold, Natasha Henstridge and Ashley Crow also star.  Liz Friedlander directed the episode written by Kevin Williamson & Andrew Miller (#102).

CASSIE IS TORN BETWEEN HER FAMILY AND THE CIRCLE — Torn between her loyalties to the Circle and her family, Cassie (Britt Robertson) wrestles with the secrets she must keep from her grandmother (Ashley Crow).  Nick (Louis Hunter) is thrown for a loop when Melissa (Jessica Parker Kennedy) adopts a new attitude and enlists his help to track down her family's Book of Shadows.  Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) is also recruited but isn’t happy about being the third wheel.  Meanwhile, Diana (Shelley Hennig) is craving some alone time with Adam (Thomas Dekker) and arranges a date night so they can rekindle the spark in their relationship, but all six of them are brought together to fight off a dark force that threatens to destroy the Circle from within.  Completely unaware of the new danger encroaching on their children, Dawn (Natasha Henstridge) joins Charles (Gale Harold) aboard his boat to further their plans for the Circle, but is surprised to find that Charles may have more than business on his mind.

FAYE STIRS UP TROUBLE FOR CASSIE AND JAKE — Cassie (Britt Robertson) and Jake (guest star Chris Zylka) look into her father’s side of the family, hoping to discover more about her lineage and why she has powers separate from the Circle.   Meanwhile, Adam (Thomas Dekker) becomes protective of Cassie when Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) reveals that Jake might be hiding something dangerous from them.  At the same time, Adam’s equally concerned when Melissa’s (Jessica Parker Kennedy) cousin Holden (guest star Arlen Escarpeta) comes to town and catches Diana’s (Shelley Hennig) eye. A ROAD TRIP FOR THE CIRCLE TAKES A HORRIBLE TURN — After not hearing from her grandmother (Ashley Crow) for a couple of days, Cassie (Britt Robertson) becomes concerned and wants to go look for her.  Diana (Shelley Hennig) decides the entire Circle should go in case Jane is in trouble.  She also invites Jake (guest star Chris Zylka) along, much to Adam’s (Thomas Dekker) dismay.  A storm turns the day trip into an overnight excursion, so Faye suggests a little game of Truth or Dare to liven up the evening.  However, things take a horrible turn when Faye is forced to reckon with someone from her past. FAYE PLOTS HER REVENGE WHEN AN EX-BOYFRIEND RETURNS TO CHANCE HARBOR  — When Jake (guest star Chris Zylka), a mysterious young man, shows up in Chance Harbor, he learns a lot has changed since his last visit.  For one, the girl he left behind, Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) has discovered she's a witch and has plans to get even with the handsome guy who broke her heart.  To complicate things further, he sets his sights on the alluring Cassie (Britt Robertson), much to Adam (Thomas Dekker) and Faye’s dismay.

CASSIE THROWS AN EPIC HALLOWEEN PARTY THAT TAKES A DANGEROUS TURN — Deciding the Circle needs to have a little fun, Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) convinces Cassie (Britt Robertson) to throw a big Halloween party.  Intent on wooing Jake (guest star Chris Zylka) back, Faye goes all out on her Halloween costume.  After a fight with Diana (Shelley Hennig), Adam (Thomas Dekker) turns to Cassie for advice.  Meanwhile, some dangerous, uninvited guests set their sights on the Circle. Cassie receives an invitation to the school dance from a cute athlete named Luke, and she decides to accept his offer after seeing Adam and Diana spend time together at the boathouse. Melissa sees the dance as an chance to form a closer relationship with Nick. Faye, however, does not plan on going to the dance but instead focuses on discovering a way to control her powers. Dawn uncovers someone from their past, an intense man named Zachary Star who arrives in town and begins asking questions about Cassie and the Circle, so Dawn asks Charles to keep an eye on him.

This ain’t no Sabrina the Teenage Witch. After her mother dies in a not-so-accidental fire, Cassie Blake (Britt Robertson) moves to the small town of Chance Harbor, Washington, to live with her grandmother Jane (Ashley Crow). Strangely enough, the residents — including her classmates Diana (Shelley Hennig), Adam (Thomas Dekker), Nick (Louis Hunter), Faye (Phoebe Tonkin), and Melissa (Jessica Parker Kennedy) — seem to know more about Cassie than she does about herself. When a series of bizarre and frightening begin to happen, her new friends offer a perfectly reasonable explanation: They are all descended from powerful witches — and they've been waiting for Cassie to arrive and complete a new generation of the “Secret Circle.” Cassie is like, “Riiight, and I’m the Queen of England.” That is until cutie-pie Adam shows her how to work some crazy-sexy magic.

What Cassie and the others don't yet know is that sinister forces are at play, forces that appear to be linked to the adults in the town, including Diana's father (Gale Harold) and Faye's mother (Natasha Henstridge).
