3 Reasons Why Jane By Design Should Get a Season 2
Last night was the highly anticipated Season 1 finale of ABC Family’s most fashionable show, Jane By Design.
We watched with bated breath as Jane Quimby attempted to save Donovan Decker from financial ruin, repair the school play’s costumes, and finally land the man of her dreams — all while wearing stilettos.
But the moment was a touch bittersweet since we still don’t know the fate of our favorite show. Will there be a Season 2? We sure hope so! Here’s why:
1) Jane and Billy
It was pretty clear from the start that this fashionista and her punk-rock bestie were meant to be. We all screamed for joy when Billy said, “It’s you” at the mid-season finale, and screamed at the TV when he acted like it meant nothing.
For now, he’s with the evil Zoe — who has inexplicably perfect hair — but we don’t expect that to last too long. She showed us her true colors when she threatened Jane and Billy’s friendship, and we won’t forget that anytime soon.
When it’s obvious that two people need to be together on a show, the creators tend to put it off for as long as possible. Unfortunately, that means we will be forced to wait for Billy to wake up and smell the roses — hence a Season 2.
2) Jeremy’s Design Business
We’ve always been a big fan of Gray — that is, until last night, when she showed she cared more about the company than Jane. So it makes sense that Jane have a backup plan to Donovan Decker.
British babe Jeremy could be the perfect alternative. Sure, Jeremy has his faults, but he’s never wronged Jane.
Jeremy was a talented designer, so it’d be great to see him start his own business. He could keep Jane away from the demands of Donovan Decker, and then maybe she could finally be honest about her true identity.
3) The Clothes
How many tutu-inspired skirts can one girl wear? We’d like to see Jane answer that question in Season 2. Her flamboyant ABC Family version of fashion appeals to the little kid in all of us, and a game of dress-up never looked so good!
