On Secret Life, love is in the air for Ethan and Kathy. While the pair hasn’t shared more than a kiss and a few longing looks so far, their portrayers, Michael Grant and Cierra Ramirez, told Wetpaint Entertainment exclusively that there is much more to come.

Wetpaint Entertainment: What’s going on with Ethan and Kathy?

Michael Grant: Ethan and Kathy are just being introduced to one another, [so] as the show goes on, it will be interesting to see how their relationship progresses, the obstacles, and the trials they go through together.

Kathy’s pregnancy would appear to be a bit of an obstacle in their relationship. How are they dealing with this?

Michael: They're actually very normal about it. I mean, Ethan is very accepting of Kathy, which is nice because some of the others are a little cold. But they connect very well.

Cierra Ramirez: I think what attracted me to the role was the fact that she's so wise beyond her years. She plans to give her baby up for adoption, and I really love that. That's probably going to be the obstacle, I think, in the relationship.

Meaning that someone wants to keep the baby?

Michael: I do at one point, yes — but you have to tune in to see what happens.

What kind of advice did Ricky and Amy have for these two?

Michael: Ricky, being my former foster brother, really keeps my head on straight. He's very much like, “Don't do anything stupid. Be smart. Be good to the girl,” and all that kind of stuff.

And Amy’s advice?

Cierra: Initially, she's not a very big Kathy and Ethan fan just because she's been through this whole situation. She's supposed to be my mentor, looking out, and he's kind of the bad boy of the school.

Michael: But she does hook [Kathy] up with her friends!

Cierra: Yeah. She does hook me up with some friends. She's definitely setting me up!
