Shailene Woodley Books Starring Role in White Bird in a Blizzard With Chris Meloni

Move over, George Clooney — Shailene Woodley has a new on-screen dad: Law & Order: SVU alum Christopher Meloni.

Although she has been attached to Gregg Araki’s White Bird in a Blizzard for awhile, Deadline recently reported that Chris is in negotiations to play the male lead in the upcoming film. He would presumably play Shai’s father, as the film centers around a “young woman whose life is upended when her mother disappears.”

We’re sure that Shailene can bring her experiences from Secret Life of the American Teenager to this new film, considering all of the crazy things that have happened in Amy Juergens's family, but we’re also excited to see her showcase her Golden Globe-worthy acting on the big screen again!

White Bird is one of three big films Shai recently signed on to after Secret Life was canceled, the other two being The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and the adaptation of Hunger Games-esque young adult novel Divergent.
