Secret Life of the American Teenager

Being pals with George Clooney sure has its perks. Last night, his on-screen daughter in the The Descendants, Secret Life of the American Teenager star Shailene Woodley, was a VIP guest at eBay Celebrity’s celebration of Make It Right, the charity started by George’s best bud, Brad Pitt.

A-listers like George — who donated a pair of his old ER scrubs signed by the entire cast — contributed personal belongings to be auctioned off with 100 percent of proceeds going towards the rebuilding of New Orleans’ Lower Ninth Ward (the auction is live on eBay Celebrity now through Feb 15). 

While there, Shailene talked to Wetpaint Entertainment about her Descendants Oscar snub, the new season of Secret Life and more.

Wetpaint Entertainment: A lot of people believed you should have gotten a supporting actress Oscar nod. How do you feel about it?

Shailene Woodley: I’m fine with it. For me, my award was the chance to spend four months filming in Hawaii. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

Are you going to the Oscars to support George and the movie?

I am, yes. Definitely.

Did you know George donated a pair of ER scrubs he signed to the auction tonight?

Yes! I’m going to buy them, sign them myself and then ship them back to him! Shhh, don’t tell him …

Do you ever eBay?

I have a few times. I don’t remember the last thing I actually won though. But I started when I was 11. I liked this handbag and it triggered a bidding war and the price went up and up.

I won it — but then the bag arrived and it had a tag on it from Ross that says it only cost $7.00! I thought that was hilarious.

Let’s talk Secret Life. Amy and Ricky got engaged in the midseason finale, but considering the ups and downs they’ve had in their relationship, will the wedding actually take place?

I have no idea! It’s in the writers’ hands. We haven’t started up again yet, we start next week. But yeah, I think they might get married!

In the spring season promo, tere was a hint that Amy might get pregnant again, or have a pregnancy scare. What can you tell us about that?

Well after having a baby at 15, any little thing is going to scare her — if she’s a little late on her period or anything like that. So I think she ‘s definitely freaked out.

Some new characters are coming to Secret Life, how has it been working with new cast members?

It’s been awesome. There’s this new kid on the show, his name is Michael Grant [who plays Ricky's younger brother, Ethan]. He’s such a talented actor, he’s like a child prodigy. I think the world of him.
