Shailene Woodley Snubbed in 2012 Oscar Nominations
In a surprising twist to the movie awards season, Shailene Woodley was snubbed in this morning's 2012 Oscar nominations.
The Descendants star, who received a Golden Globe nomination and won a National Board of Review award, was left out of the Best Supporting Actress category.
Shailene has been receiving rave reviews for her performance as George Clooney's rebellious teen daughter, and many Oscar pundits believed she was a sure bet.
Instead, Jessica Chastain (The Help), Bérénice Bejo (The Artist), Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids), Janet McTier (Albert Knobbs) and Octavia Spencer (The Help) will vie for the trophy during the awards ceremony on February 26.
The Descendants did rack up a host of other nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor for Clooney and Best Adapted Screenplay.
