The Vampire Diaries Cast Tweets Reactions to Filming the End of Season 3

Alas, The Vampire Diaries Season 3 is almost over. In spite of all the death, destruction, drama, and daggers, it seems like only yesterday that Elena (Nina Dobrev) was turning 18 and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) was seeing dead people, à la The Sixth Sense.

But all good things must come to an end. And while we’re dealing with bouts of anger and tears, the cast have mixed feelings about the season’s end. Check out our Twitter round-up of the cast and producers reactions to the Season 3 finale below!

Candice Accola (Caroline) tweeted from makeup: “Bryson helping me turn into Caroline for the last time for season 3!”

Nina Dobrev (Elena) is just excited for a break: “Second to last day of shooting for TVD! Looking forward to a well deserved vacation getaway after 9 months of shooting!”

Claire Holt (Rebekah) also tweeted her, um, excitement over a little R ‘n’ R: “Home sweet home! Thinking about burning my suitcase.”

Ian Somerhalder (Damon) traded emotions for math: “Just got [the] last call sheet of the season. In 27 of the last 36 months, 66 episodes- the equivalent of about 33 full-length films.33 movies 3 yrs.”

Producer Kevin Williamson kept it simple: “Congrats to my vampire family for a terrific Season 3. You guys are awesome. Thank you a fantastic season!!!!!”

Exec producer Julie Plec lamented the fact that she’s MIA for finale filming: “Wishing I was with my vamps 'n such in Atlanta for the last days. Feels like it's the end of summer camp and I'm missing the talent show,” and later: “Congrats to the cast/crew on the last day of season 3! We've got season 4 half-broken, so enjoy your vacay then let's get back to work. ;-)”
