Candice Accola Spills Spoilers About ‘TVD’ Midseason Finale and Beyond
There’s just one more episode before the break, and then our favorite vampire show will be coming to an end in 2017. Don’t worry, though, there’s still plenty of excitement ahead because Candice Accola is spilling some major The Vampire Diaries Season 8 spoilers about the midseason finale and beyond.
1. There’s Going to Be Another Time Jump
We already did this once before with The Vampire Diaries, and not that long ago, but Candice says to prepare ourselves for another time jump when the show returns in January.
“When we come back in January there’s going to be a time jump. Not another three-year one, but it’s a time jump,” Candice tells TVLine.
So, what does that mean? A week? A month? A year? Even longer than three years?
We are desperate for more info, Candice!
2. Matt Donovan Is Going to Play a Big Role
We do know Sybil coerced Damon to find and (try to) kill Matt’s father, back before we knew his real identity. Now, Matt’s dad is back spending the holidays with the Salvatores, Sybil, Caroline, and Matt.
So, will Mr. Donovan/Maxwell and Matt factor into the final plotline that will end the series? Candice thinks so.
“Basically, you’re going to get a lot of answers to questions you’ve had for a while,” Candice says to TVLine.
“And we, of course, pose more questions. You’ll learn a lot about Matt’s dad, and the history of [the Donovan] family in Mystic Falls.”
“We finally find out the truth about Matt’s family history and it will fill him with a sense of peace because so many things will finally start to make sense,” he says.
“You also see where Matt gets his inherent strength from and why he has always felt such an integral attachment to this town, even though he’s not necessarily from one of the “founding families.”
3. Stefan Will Come Face to Face with Cade
Talking about the midseason finale, Candice tells TVLine: “You’ll also see Damon and Stefan, and what happens next for them.”
In a sneak peek scene, we see some of that come to fruition:
Sadly, the encounter isn’t to say Stefan is free. Rather, Cade wants to tell Stefan why he’s the perfect person for the job, and he wants to show him why.
Does this mean we’ll get flashes to Ripper Stefan? We know it’s coming.
4. Bonnie and Enzo Will Have “Moments”
Ugh these two have been to (not literal) hell and back as a couple — can they just have their happily ever after now?
Hopefully those moments are happy, kissy moments and not sad, breakup moments, right?
The Vampire Diaries Season 8 airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
