If you’re already excited for Teen Wolf’s Season 2, get ready to have your heart pound faster than Scott’s (Tyler Posey) before he transitions into a werewolf. When Wetpaint Entertainment spoke with Tyler Posey, Colton Haynes, and Holland Roden, they teased some tantalizing spoilers about why the second season of MTV’s hit show will be even more amazing than the first. New characters, new alliances, and new relationships are just a few of the reasons we can’t wait for the premiere, which airs tonight after the MTV Movie Awards.

The enemy from Season 1 of Teen Wolf was vanquished — and another one is ready to take his place. With Derek’s (Tyler Hoechlin) uncle dead, he’ll take over as the alpha wolf, but this time, the opposition is human. Allison’s grandfather Gerard (Michael Hogan) is a werewolf hunter who isn’t afraid to get his weapons dirty. “Gerard is definitely the big enemy and the scary guy this season, because he has no remorse for anything, and he’s very mad at the werewolves for killing his daughter, Kate,” says Tyler Posey, “and the code is basically out the window.” Until now, most of the Argent hunters have vowed not to kill werewolves who haven’t harmed humans. With some members of her family bent on destroying all the creatures, Allison will be placed between her family and her boyfriend.

While there will bumps in that relationship, the friendship between Scott and Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) will remain solid. “The first season, Stiles was definitely Scott’s, like, rock, and he held him together. The second season, it’s kind of a reverse role because Stiles kind of takes a step back and realizes that he can’t do all of the things Scott can do, and he might get hurt or die,” Tyler says. Yes, by all means, keep Stiles safe from harm!

There’s some bad news for the wisecracking character, however. His crush, Lydia (Holland Roden) is on the rebound from Jackson (Colton Haynes). “I spend a lot of time by myself…and I spend a lot of time with a mystery character,” teases Holland. Yes, Lydia may get a new romance — or more than one! She won’t say who the stranger is, but there’s a reason Lydia is flying solo so often this season. Though Holland describes Lydia as “a little more low-key” in Season 2, “she definitely does have her breakdown, loony-toon moment – sss. Plural.” There have been hints that Lydia has a different, possibly supernatural side to her, and it sounds like it will be explored further this year.

In fact, there might be many more creatures lurking around Beacon Hill. “You start to realize that they might not be alone,” says Colton.

“They might not be, but they might be terribly alone,” adds Tyler.

“Well, they’re alone inside,” Colton jokes.
