Filming has officially begun for the fourth season of The Vampire Diaries, so you know what that means — plenty of amazing photos from the Atlanta set!

On Wednesday, July 11, Ian Somerhalder hit the makeup trailer to get ready for his close-up. Taking to his Twitter account, Ian shared a peek behind the scenes: “Damon in makeup on a business call... He’s back!”

All we can say is, thank God! It’s been far too long since Ian’s been on screen (unless you count our numerous weekend marathons of Seasons 1 – 3). TVD may not premiere until the middle of October, but at least we can expect tons of on-set pics to tide us over until then!
