One big happy family! (Though we doubt that’ll last long!)

Oh, we should not have trusted Meredith (Torrey DeVitto). The minute Alaric (Matt Davis) finds her secret stash of murder weapons, she draws a gun, fires it, and… blank screen. We know Alaric has more lives than a cat, but Meredith is a doctor, not a supernatural. Those magical bring-you-back-from-the-dead rings don’t work when the killer is a human. We’re concerned for our favorite vampire hunter, and we have no idea if Meredith is actually the murderer who has been stalking Mystic Falls.
It’s entirely possible. Alaric was already the assassin’s victim once, and executive producer Julie Plec recently said, “The episode where we come back after the next little mini-hiatus [Season 3, Episode 16, “1912”] really dives right into that mystery and tells us, starts to give us a sense of what’s actually going on and who’s behind this strange trail of bodies that have been stacking up. That villain and that mystery will be driving us towards the end of the season very hard.” Plus, Meredith’s ex called her “psycho,” and she definitely didn’t look stable pointing that gun at Alaric.
So is Dr. Fell a serial killer?
