When we saw the picture Vampire Diaries executive producer Julie Plec tweeted, our hearts thudded a little faster. It’s of the script for Season 4, Episode 2. Then we read the title, and we got really scared.

“Memorial.” That’s the title, and a word often associated with funerals and other mourning rituals. Now, these events take place daily in Mystic Falls, what with the high death rate and all. But having learned that Elena (Nina Dobrev) is about to get a few memories back about Damon (Ian Somerhalder), it seems possible the title could be referring to that as well.

At least, that’s what we’re telling ourselves to feel better about the whole business.
