The Vampire Diaries’ Taylor Kinney (Mason Lockwood) is on fire! Having scored himself a huge chunk of the spotlight in recent months as Lady Gaga’s new beau, the 30-year-old hottie has now landed a role on action-packed NBC firefighter drama pilot Chicago Fire. Deadline reports Kinney was tapped to play Squad Lieutenant Kelly Severide, the leader of a band of first-class firefighters who wipe out the city’s most dangerous fires. Danger? Now that’s one thing this Mystic Falls alum knows all about.
Kinney will star alongside Eamonn Walker, and the role will mark Kinney’s first return to NBC since he co-starred on the med drama series Trauma in 2009.
Also, Deadline says Kinney’s character Severide is an “adrenaline junkie”; sounds like the perfect gig for Gaga’s boy toy!
