Where Is Ian Somerhalder From?

Ian was born and raised in Covington, Louisiana — not to be confused with Covington, Georgia, where many scenes from The Vampire Diaries are filmed. (Really, what are the odds?!) Located in St. Tammany Parish, the city was home to 8,765 residents at the time of the 2012 census. Ian went to school at St. Paul's, a private Catholic institution located in Covington, before setting off to pursue a career as a model, then actor. And we're so glad he did!
