The Voice 2013: When Do the Battle Rounds Start in Season 4?

No more spinning chairs in Season 4! The Voice has finished its blind auditions and the four coaches are preparing to take their teams to the battle rounds. The first battle will air Monday, April 15 at 8 p.m. ET.

From the looks of the sneak peek in last night’s episode, the new coaches are definitely taking this phase seriously. In the battle rounds, the teams will go from 12 to eight. The contestants must duet on the same song. As an added bonus, each coach gets two “steals.”

Artists who lose the battle round have the opportunity to be stolen by another coach and to join their team. This exciting addition to the show allows great singers to make it through to the knockout rounds.

In Season 3, Amanda Brown was stolen by Adam Levine after losing to Trevin Hunte on Team Cee Lo. The rocker went on to make it to the Top 6, proving the “steals” to be an effective tool.

After the battle rounds come the knockouts in which contestants on the same team are pitted against each other and the teams are split in half.
