The Voice 2013: Who Will Be Eliminated in the Live Results Show? (5/8/2013)

Tonight, May 8, marks the first live results show on The Voice 2013, and sadly we will be saying goodbye to four talented artists. During the live playoffs, eliminations are a bit different.

America votes two contestants per team through to the next week, and then the coaches pick between the bottom two contestants to see who will move forward.

Here are our predictions for who will move on:

Team Adam Levine

It’s been clear for a while that rocker Adam Levine has the strongest team. It’s unfortunate because someone from his team must go home tonight, and between the four remaining artists, he’ll probably pick Caroline Glaser. This coffeehouse songbird definitely has her own style, but she struggles to stand out in a competition full of powerhouse singers.

Team Blake Shelton

For the first time in four seasons, Blake has compiled a completely country team. His talent is impressive and his song choices even more unique. Unfortunately Justin Rivers was montaged in both his blind audition and battle round, giving America less time with him, but in last night’s live shows, he really stood out. Not sure if that’s enough to keep him safe tonight, but if he is, our money is on Holly Tucker and her low self esteem for tonight’s elimination.

Team Shakira

Honestly, it’s just a matter of time before all of Team Shakira gets eliminated except for Sasha Allen. But it’s rocker Karina Iglesias who really underwhelmed us this week. We’re just not sure this singer has much more to give.

Team Usher

This week’s standout moment goes to Michelle Chamuel who touched America’s heart with her rendition of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors.” She’s certainly safe and we have a feeling that R&B triple threat, Vedo, will also make it through unscathed. That just leaves pretty boy Josiah Hawley and crossover artist Cáthia. This week marks Josiah’s first legitimate performance, but that really doesn’t make up for his lackluster songs in previous weeks. Cáthia, on the other hand, struggled this week, but has proved that she deserves to be in the competition. Ush seems to see something in the former model, so he’ll probably end up picking Josiah if given the choice.
